It helps make the characters feel a bit more human to see them just living. Plus, you get to play around with more subtle character expression. Very easy to show character in how someone fights, but how do they handle ordering a deli-sandwich?

The week The Amazing Digital Circus came out there was 20 different AUs of it with their own variants on the characters. Undertale was the same way. I think it's fine. People play around with art.
