This is Marco Rubio explaining how the USA promised to defend Ukraine forever if they got rid of their nuclear arsenal left after the Soviet Union fell.

This is why lil marco was sinking into the couch. He was hoping we wouldn’t find it…so don’t RT right now this very second.

I was mentally prepared for the graft, chaos, bigotry, mendacity, greed, and bad faith. Even the authoritarianism. But literally flushing crucial irrigation water into the ocean just to score "points" in a flame war still comes as a surprising gut punch. www.nytimes.com/2025/01/31/u...

I can't quite figure out the "why". Big bucks are being spent on an intra-party fight to get incompetent folks into office. The only plausible justification I can think of is that it's all a loyalty test to see which GOP senators will bend the knee the most, so they can start purging the rest.

I'm not a fan of the Hunter Biden pardon, but it's just such small potatoes compared to, oh, pulling one example out of the hat, this one:

Still trying to figure out if bsky (or any social media right now) is for me. Is it just me, or was the signup captcha the hardest quiz you've ever taken, like trying to follow directions as provided by Dali? Mine was: which of these grainy raccoons most resembles a cookie with a lion's face on it?
