This July, our teammates @afilazzola.bsky.social and Hannah Adams joined researchers in Alberta’s Kananaskis Country to help monitor an alpine butterfly and its host plant—a project that’s been running since 1995.

Instead of our usual canoe trek, we enjoyed an eco-tour through the Haliburton Forest. This included a paddle, canopy walk, and a deep dive into the forest's history. A brush with dog ticks (a first for us!) also reminded us how climate is reshaping ecosystems.
