8/ it is no wonder why I'm not sure that cutting the overhead on government funding is such a bad idea. Maybe this will force University leaders to re-think their priorities and ensure that the University is back to focusing on its core mission.

4/ The insertion of ideological bias into the academic funding system is NOT new and intensified in the last 10-15 years. You didn't care until now because it was aligned with your own political views.

3/ But let me also remind you that you stayed silent for the last 10 years when we all were required to include ideological/political statements in our research proposals to satisfy gov agencies, even if they had nothing to do with our research.

2/ It is horrible that in the last few weeks, funding for scientific research has been terminated, eliminated, and reviewed based on political/ideological considerations. Science should not be subjected to political commissars.
