To reflect these complex interrelations among the themes, we propose a kaleidoscope model of cultural humility. This model provides a deeper understanding of how cultural humility is practiced in jail-based psychotherapy and underscores the need for further research on the contextual factors that shape this process. Public Significance Statement: Therapists working in jails must navigate complex power dynamics while staying attuned to their clients’ cultural and identity needs. Our study proposes a model of cultural humility that highlights how therapists-in-training can effectively respond to these challenges, contributing to more equitable and responsive care in carceral settings.

Absract: This article introduces a special section that addresses the need for culturally and structurally responsive training in psychotherapy. Nine articles explore how to prepare psychotherapists to address cultural and structural factors, in addition to individual and interpersonal factors, in their practice. The court warrant gives investigators 48 hours to take him into custody for questioning. It is unclear, however, if investigators will be able to execute the warrant as they may be thwarted by his security team and protesters. The presidential security service had earlier blocked investigators from entering the presidential office grounds and Yoon's private residence to conduct court-approved searches. In the past, South Korean authorities have given up arrest attempts against prominent politicians after their aides and supporters have physically blocked the police.

10. My first real job out of training was as an Assistant Professor in the Counseling Psychology program at New Mexico State University. I lived in Las Cruces for 6 years while on the tenure track there. I still miss the sight of the Organ Mountains!

Use of Generative AI (Adapted from https://new.express.adobe.com/webpage/PjeaG4XqmiynH?) • Students should avoid submitting work generated entirely by Generative AI, such as ChatGPT or Claude. If Generative AI creates the new ideas of your work and the actual text (with minimal changes from you), then this is a mix of plagiarism and collusion and, as such, a violation of Academic Integrity (also see the section on University Policies and Regulations). • If you use Generative AI to help create new ideas (i.e., ideas not of your own generation) or draft a specific passage that gets included in your work, then you must (a) specify which ideas and/or texts included in your submission are generated using which model of AI, (b) check for potential source material to support the content created, and (c) attach to your submission the exact prompts that were used to create your content. • If you use Generative AI as an assistant to help with the language/wording of your work (i.e., as an editor), to offer guidance on structure or format, there is no need to disclose this information.

Excited to share this paper from Dra. Sibella Salazar’s dissertation. Sibella, a former student at NMSU, interviewed eight Pueblo people w/ whom she protested against DAPL at Standing Rock. They explored resilience from an Indigenous lens. Check it out--it's Open Access!

Abstract: In this phenomenological study, we examined the meaning of resilience for seventh generation Pueblo people who took part in the historic Water Protector movement against the construction of the Dakota Access pipeline. Using focus group data from eight Pueblo participants, four themes were developed: (a) Creating Interconnectivity, highlighting the significance of resilience in fostering connections with all living beings and things across time; (b) Cultivating Resilience, emphasizing the role of relationships, especially with women caregivers and role models, in nurturing resilience; (c) Being Resourceful to Overcome Oppressive Hurdles, involving awareness of historical trauma, proactive actions like protests, and patience for change; and (d) A Way of Healing, illustrating how resilience serves as a source of healing through engagement in spiritual practices of prayer, ceremony, love, forgiveness, and sovereignty.
