We went a similar time 2 years ago. If he has the time heading out of Munich slightly to Kloster Andechs is worth it for the beers and setting. We were lucky enough to enjoy sunny beers on their terrace which was wonderful.

Ooo just spotted I won this! Do I need to do anything?

Stick to your regular tipple, the likes of festive mulled wine or cider rarely taste as good as they smell. That being said if there is Barley wine on offer, I’ll make an exception

Just of my food 🤦🏻‍♂️ The beer list was reasonable. They had Hommelbier on draught which was a nice change. My friend has moules cooked in the Hommelbier. It was quite traditional inside and full of Belgian families, think we were the only tourists.

Thank you for the tips. We had an amazing afternoon at Boon, met Frank & had an impromptu tasting of their beers with him. We had dinner tonight at Au Stekerlapatte in Brussels, was wonderful & would definitely recommend!

Wonderful thank you!

Ohh looks nice, I’m in Brussels weekend after next. We’re planning to head south to check out 3F & Boerenerf for some Lambik at one point. Poechenellekelder and La Fleur en Papier Doré seem to be the most recommended more central. Anywhere else good presently?

Yes I think that relates to full size/unfoldable bikes as a foldable bike is luggage as it can fit in the regular luggage racks on the train.

I haven’t but looking at the policy looks like it’s similar to the Paris rules where you can travel with a folding bike as long as it’s in a carry bag. Unfortunately Eurostar are in no way as friendly to cyclists as they used to be.

Thank you! Yeah it’s just as you turn off into the industrial estate where Vandewoude is isn’t it. Remember spotting it in Jan this year. I’d be interested in the museum not sure my normal travel mates would be though so just cafe access is a boon 😅

Depending on the museum and cafes opening hours this could be good info for a post Eurotunnel, pre Dranken Vandenwoude peruse. Cheers

Can’t believe I’m the first to say it but what’s the Wurst that could happen? 🥴
August 7, 2025 at 8:15 AM
Oh wow! Good luck with the research. I’ll be sure to check it out when I’m able to visit next.

That’s a great selection; but it’s such a treasure trove that’s still less than 2% of its total beer offering I’m guessing?! 🤪
