Will Newsom and #CALeg meet that call to action?

The oil industry made this mess. Now, they want permission to continue fleecing California taxpayers and consumers – and, as a bonus, slash regulations, cut corners, and endanger Californians. We can’t let Big Oil shake down California on their way out.

We must follow the leadership of EJ groups in the Valley directly impacted by dirty drilling, and the many groups that have spent over a decade facing down threats of unchecked drilling expansion – groups like CRPE, CCEJN and CVAQ.

Let’s be clear: fast-tracking thousands of oil and gas wells with only a *single* environmental review further pollutes the air and water in some of California’s most overburdened communities *and* risks deepening our dependence on fossil fuels.

So, what happened this week? Yesterday, @CalEnergy held a hearing on their initial plan to get us out of this hostage situation. But there’s more work to do. Among other things, this plan could lead to a massive expansion of oil and gas drilling in Kern County.

As the Trump regime guts environmental protections, censors public data, and gives billionaires free reign to pollute, we need to step up the fight for our homes, families, and future.

The lawsuit argues that Trump has confiscated “essential tools” from communities on the frontlines of poverty, pollution, and climate disaster.
