Why do qualitative methods papers always like to refer to data quality in terms of “richness and thickness”?

It just makes me hungry for really decadent desserts… that sugar crash is not gonna help me finish these revisions.

Reviewing job applications that are primarily generated with AI is absolutely mind numbing.

Pro tip: When you use AI to draft responses to questions in an application or your cover letter, it reads like literally every other application.

So don’t.
*Draft it yourself.*
Then use AI for corrections

I’ve felt for a long time that researchers and academics are viewed as elite and out of touch by much of society because they fail to spread knowledge to the public in plain language terms.

I’m glad one thing coming from this horrible attack on science is improvement in science communication.
A budding movement of scientists is devoting fresh attention to science communication. They’re gathering testimonials, documenting impacts of funding cuts, and building social-media followings. chroni.cl/3FVkYhd
As Cuts Pile Up, Can Scientists Win Back the Public?
A renewed focus on engagement, some researchers say, is urgent and overdue. “When science is sidelined,” one said, “people get hurt.”
