Amendments to the Federal Constitution of Switzerland, the joining of international organisations, or changes to federal laws that have no foundation in the constitution but will remain in force for more than one year must be put to a popular vote and approved by the majority of both the people and the cantons, a double majority. These are called mandatory referendums. In March 2024 75% of mandatory referendums were accepted from a total of 226[15] Any citizen may challenge a law that has been passed by parliament through an optional referendum. If that person is able to gather 50,000 signatures against the law within 100 days of the legislation being published, a national vote has to be scheduled where voters decide by a simple majority of the voters whether to accept or reject the law.[16] In March 2024 58% of optional referendums were accepted from a total of 209.[1]

We can’t identify the Director Forest Management, mentioned in this letter from the Conservation Regulator (Department of Energy, Environment, & Climate Action). In DEECA organisation chart, this role doesn’t exist. www.deeca.vic.gov.au/__data/asset...
The letter: good morning, decisions around DEECA’s fire operations, including assurance, are managed through the department, ultimately by the office of the chief fire officer. There is no regulatory body to oversee fire management, however, concerns around operational activity continue to be best brought to the attention of director Forest management. Regards, conservation regulator/Department of energy environment and climate. March 2023.
