FAFO will be the word of the year in 2025.

How delusional can you be when you vote against your own interest chasing something you can't even define ...

Love the bot, but the main appeal of HN is the comment section. Not the link. Any chance we can get a link to the discussion as well?

We could have both if we improved our tax systems. Millionaires would pay their fair share and this could be used to make health care a right instead of a privilege, and reduce the cost of education.

Thanks for the additional context. I heard that on Hard Fork a week or two ago. It looks like the fine prints are that both Lyft and Waymo have 22% market share but only for trips where both the pick up and the drop off are within the area Waymo serves:

This is what happened for nuclear energy and it set us back many years.

I am optimistic about self-driving cars. Waymo seems to be gaining ground and is more popular than Lyft in SF.

There are a lot of these from human drivers as well:

I think that if self driving cars can be better than the average driver, self driving can be useful.

Ironically for this thread, a lot of progress has been made for image and video gen by big tech.

Coming back to self driving, Waymo has less accidents per mile than your average human driver.

Waymo seems to be doing fine where they are deployed.

Honest question. What tech innovations would be easier if big companies weren't so big?

The low hanging fruits seem to be gone. Now it requires deep pockets to innovate. Advanced AI research is just impossible without A LOT of money. Same thing for self-driving car. Even GM couldn't afford it.

I agree and I appreciate the transparency demonstrated. This can help to have a conversation on whether healthcare is a for-profit business or a right (like in any other industrialized countries).

What does "functional medicine" mean in this context? If his blood treatments are snake oil or haven't been proven to work, just say it plainly in the title and summary.

The trick is to dehumanize the other side so that "we the people" exclude libs and immigrants. This way you can be both fascist and patriot at the same time ...

The MAGA crowd has been trained to only trust their leader and disregard expertise. I hope there are enough GOP candidates remaining with enough integrity to push back against these crazy nominations.

Are we already finding excuses for Trump so that he can claim again that he doesn't take responsibility for anything, even his own decisions?
