Views are my own.

Russia is a terrorist state. It is also a colonial empire that commits genocide regularly. Make russia small again.

EU Disinformation review:

For russia, climate change is yet another wedge issue - to open cracks in public debate, then fill them with pro-russia narratives. They stir polarisation to piss EVERYONE off - to make us hate one another as much as they hate themselves.

What a shame.

This week's russia disinformation review.

Normally, intelligence services operate quietly in the background. But lately, russia's SVR has done something unusual: it’s been putting out official public statements to amplify the aims of its covert operations.

Latest russian disinformation review:

RU drones penetrated Polish airspace and then RU vomited disinfo about the incursions. As usual, they said anything, everywhere, all at the once, as long as what was said served to deny and distract from Russian responsibility.

State of the European Union.

@vonderleyen.ec.europa.eu mentioned the Baltics' Forest Brothers who fought for freedom from russian oppression.

@dankaszeta.bsky.social wrote a wonderful book about them (maybe the Commission President read it and was inspired).

Highly recommend both. Links below.

This past week, Russian officials and foreign manipulation and interference outlets staged ‘offers of dialogue’ for Western audiences, but russia has no intention to negotiate.

Another "delay" in holding russia to account. Another two weeks of russia murdering civilians in Ukraine. Another example of where Trump shows that he's a weak coward.

Image is in language MAGA can understand.

Caught up on the latest episodes of @sturdyalex.bsky.social Podcast @alexpodyssey.bsky.social on Aesop, walking the empty shores of the Baltic.

A wonderful way to spend a couple of hours! The dulcet tones of the host's voice, and the timeless AND topical subject make for a great listen.

Recommend!

Why has Mira of Kyiv (@reshetz.bsky.social) been suspended?

My info is that she is a local news reporter. I have never seen a post that violated Bluesky rules.

Her voice is important to bring Ukrainian news to the broad audience.

This week's russian disinformation review.

In the reality that russia creates, russian society is granted terrible freedoms: freedom from liberties, the burden of protest, the complexities of choice, responsibility of holding power to account, & from life itself.

Pope Leo looks to be a good Pope.

He reversed Francis' misguided faith in russia having any good faith.

He chose a name that harks back to the birth of Christian Democracy & defense of the middle class (Rerum Novarum).

He knows the global south. He understands the poor.

He gets it.

The art of the deal?

How is it a good deal, when you fuck over your friends and try to extort them by aligning with the enemy?

How is it a good deal when they then decide to ramp up defense spending by investing in defense contracts NOT belonging to you?

The script for the Trump-Zelensky meeting was clearly written in Moscow for their purposes and culture. The ritualistic humiliation thing is in their DNA.

What they didn't, couldn't consider is that Zelensky isn't russian, i.e. he wouldn't grovel like a russian would.

Macron is really stepping up. Coming into his own.

I hope he follows through.

He might become the frenchman that finally puts "surrender monkeys" to rest, by moving the moniker to the USA.

Because, right now, it's the USA that's surrendering.

The fundamental problem with negotiating with russia is that russia has no intention of abiding by international law, nor does it intend to abide by any treaties it might sign.

russia's signature on anything means nothing. They never keep their word.
