I think, the main reason why the linter complains might be, that "None" should not be used in a truthy comparison, but instead "if compound.synonyms is not None:".

I am now very happy to announce that I have started a new position, at the ScreeningPort group of the Fraunhofer Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology (ITMP) in Hamburg. I am very much looking forward to work with new colleagues on many exciting projects.
