Happy to share that last week, I successfully defended my PhD dissertation, “‘Currents We Have to Swim Against in this Global Sea’: Imperial Hegemony, Migration, and Counternarrative in and beyond Micronesia.” Deeply grateful for many peoples’ support and encouragement throughout the process.

President Trump signed an executive order temporarily freezing the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program late last month. The U.S. State Department also froze funding to groups that help refugees with housing and job placement.
Local refugee advocacy groups affected by federal relocation freeze
As a pause of federal refugee relocation programs is in effect, local groups like Kentucky Refugee Ministries say they’ve been affected.
