Yep, this is why when people say “well we have PSA and Ezra Klein” it’s like no that’s not what I want, they criticize Dems all the time, what I want (because I think it’s more strategically effective) is something where all they do is hype up Dems regardless of the specifics

In the same way that a lot of Dems are still hung up on norms and rules I feel like a lot of Dems feel icky saying what they want is just a purely partisan “always good for Dems type coverage0 outlet but we should embrace being open about saying that’s what we want

This to me is the single biggest reason why it’s been so hard to get worked up about anything, from stuff Trump is doing to the Biden pardon or whatever. If Dems don’t have people functionally opposing things at the national level what is the point in rank and file voters getting worked up about it

suspect it’s possible that we’ll see with Twitter the same thing we’ve seen with CNN and MSNBC - liberals start to get mad and go away from using it and instead of reporters making it up by better appealing to Republicans it’ll just mean less interest in what reporters are saying there

What I have been struggling with, even if I agree with most of your points, is why I should even care at this point. Things are going to do downhill starting next year and no amount of criticizing Biden or what not by Dems to get pundit points is gonna change anything that happens so why bother

stuff like this is why I have personally found it difficult to be upset about Hunter’s pardon. On balance, yeah it’s bad, but a bunch of bad stuff is gonna happen and being clear eyed about it I don’t see how Biden doing this makes anything more or less likely outside of pundit reactions

Chad is it completely conspiratorially crazy to think there was an “unsaid” understanding in the Snell talks that we wouldn’t come to terms with Teo before Soto signed (although as I think about this in theory Teo being off the board could increase Soto’s value, idk)

yep, the single biggest reason I personally feel like being upset about things right now is futile is that we do not have Dem leaders who are going to do anything or effectively message about it. Until that changes what use is there in me, random person, caring about anything that happens

what I’m struggling with on this topic is understanding how my (or others at large) spending even 1 second being upset about HunterKs pardon is supposed to make an ounce of difference to all of the bad stuff that’s gonna happen in the coming years. Being mad at Biden now won’t change anything

There is a vein of “person who supported Democrats, doesn’t support Republicans, but spends a lot of their content energy attacking Democrats” and I assume it’s just a way to deal with some personal embarrassment about voting for a side that didn’t win
