one of the 2 units they gave did ened up being positive for one of the antigens we screen sickle cell pats for. this could make the kids life so much harder and all because someone didnt take the time to give proper patient care.

theres still a chance the child developes antibodies, and especially in sickle cell we need to avoid that if possible. the more antibodies they develop the more difficult it becomes to find them compatible blood.
