I’m determined to reread the Earthsea books this year, especially since I managed to get the illustrated edition on sale. Cannot wait to lose it when I reach Tehanu because I always can’t help myself from crying reaching this part:

you can love a character and still admit when they’re wrong… i love Nezha but can acknowledge his flaws (he has none) and can hold him accountable for his wrongdoings (he’s never done anything wrong in his life) and call him out for his actions (which are always correct)

Notes from the Hui Xiao Hui video (person that interviewed the director) Lu Guang had been trying to keep the timeline along the same path, but there were differences from the butterfly effect, and even more influentially, CXS’s mother also traveled back in time to save his father. This is why he also decided to take a risk to get rid of Vein Technically, Lu Guang didn’t take any action to kill Vein, but was taking a chance on a probability. He knew of certain circumstances (e.g. delaying Vein) would contribute to a chance that he would be taken out Vein’s resurrection is Vein himself being revived, no one’s possessing him or anything When Wang Qing seems to activate her ability against Vein, the blue eyes she has isn’t the same shade as Lu Guang’s when he activates his own powers. What she did was due to her own special abilities (which she is confirmed to have), not through Lu Guang possessing her. Hui Xiao Hui saw an earlier version of her activating her special abilities, at the time her eyes were red, but this was changed into the final version The person pulling back Xia Fei at the end of episode 6 having a white shirt that turns to black in the next shot, and CXS’s eyes being gold as he’s running away from the Vivian incident are animation errors Liu Xiao being in Yingdu, as well as being interested in the Bahati language school and what CXS’s father all have to do with them being related to the special abilities

I've taken notes of the main points from the interview the director of Link Click, Li Haoling, did with Hui Xiao Hui after the Yingdu season finale. This is meant to be a summary and not a direct translation. Please take specific wording with a grain of salt （video link below) #linkclick #时光代理人
Will use shorthand LH0 to refer to the director, Li Haoling, throughout LH0 says he doesn’t look at the comments because he’s afraid of being influenced by them…and also some weird comments about a shipping Qian Jin with a certain someone (he’s talking about himself lol) The questions in Yingdu will be tied to the plot of season 3 There were two more “slice-of life” style stories in episode of Yingdu, and this was done similarly in the style of season 1, and to establish how CXS and LG started working together LH0 hopes to return to the “slice-of-life” style again, and also has some photos from the fans as sources of inspiration There have been small changes (butterfly effect) in the timeline ever since he travelled back to the beginning, e.g. Liu Xiao notices Lu Guang’s heartbeat when they meet in the Yingdu season. Cheng Xiaoshi’s mother is also an uncertain factor, and might be more influential in changing the timeline The guy blocking the exit when they ran away from the sports bar was not purposefully put there by Liu Xiao and/or Vein, that was the result of the butterfly effect. The poster of Xia Fei being different is also one of those small challenges Re: Lu Guang seemingly doing something to stop Vein’s heart: LH0 says that Lu Guang can’t always be on the defensive, and the kitty needs to show his claws 🐱 How exactly he does this will be answered in season 3 Lu Guang doesn’t know Vein has been resurrected. The change in the timeline with Li Tianchen was also something he didn’t expect When did Lu Guang plan to get rid of Vein? LH0 believes that LG was aware of the situation that created a possibility for him to take a risk to get rid of Vein Emma’s fate and Li Tianchen’s appearance is something that didn’t happen in the first timeline Vein doesn’t clearly know that LG is responsible for his death, but he can probably put it together with the things that LG tells him before he went to see Wang Qing The person who unzipped Vein’s body bag is too much of a spoiler to reveal 😉 Lu Guang’s cat hat that he lost in the chase was picked up and given back to him by Xia Fei Vein was nice to CXS and LG because he’s in an agreement with Liu Xiao, and was using CXS to bait out Wang Qing so he could steal the Bahati notebook Does Liu Xiao know about Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi’s mother traveling back in time, or did he arrange everything without knowing? Too spoilery to reveal. But Liu Xiao has motives for being in Yingdu, and in LH0’s mind, Liu Xiao is someone who is focused and has things planned out Li Tianchen was originally planned to be a smaller role, and LH0 didn’t expect to focus that much on him in season 2. His role was conceptualized more as someone who showed up every now and then and observe/annoy CXS and LG Vein’s design is eye-catching and has elements of Chinese style influence to reflect him as the boss of commerce in Yingdu’s Chinatown, but also to make him more ostentatious in contrast to the more reserved/hidden Liu Xiao, Lu Guang, and Li Tianchen, and the cheery Xia Fei Vein does a lot of things, such as his businesses, because he finds them entertaining, and he’s a very casual person. He helped Xia Fei and also took him under his company for the same reason (Vein thinks he’s amusing) LH0 doesn’t confirm if Vein has a special ability or not Vein in the Yingdu season is him being restrained, and the music video preview of him is truer to his ostentatious personality Xia Fei is a normal model, not a famous model, which is why he’s still poor 😂 There’s a lot of people with special abilities (including Qiao Ling now), but LH0 says he doesn’t want it to be a battle of the superpowers, and there’s enough on the table to put the plot together There’s two ways of having a speciality 1.It’s inherited (example given is CXS and his mom) or 2. It’s transferred upon death (example given is Qiao Ling inheriting Li Tianxi’s power) Because you can transfer powers upon death, some people’s powers aren’t their own, and can be taken when they kill someone with those powers More people with special abilities wasn’t planned in season 1 The Bahati school and people with special abilities are related Season 3 might be 24 episodes long, and because Yingdu already laid lots of clues, LH0 hopes that Season 3 will give answers (and Li Tianchen will also be here) There’s about half a year from the end of Season 2 to CXS’s death node from the first timeline LH0 hopes a small side story for Xia Fei There are no multiple timelines or parallel universes (it’s just the one Lu Guang dives back to) Commenter says it doesn’t seem like Liu Xiao has only one ability; LH0 says that you can steal other people’s abilities in response Xia Fei nicknaming Liu Xiao as the “pain in the neck client” was a way to show off his lively personality, and his personality is purposefully similar to CXS Rest of it are mostly jokes, about how Liu Xiao is handsome, how Vein is the type of boss to give his employees very comprehensive insurance, how CXS shook the hand of every bad guy this season, and how he’ll treat Lu Guang better Lu Guang getting smacked in the face with the basketball also happened in the first timeline
