There wasn't really that much wrong with them! I reseated the connector on both, and they seem to be playing fine :) , i'm still going to give them both a good clean and perhaps a retrobrite treatment!

I've heard different opinions with mixed results on the boiling trick, some say the plastic warps and the pince go out of place?

Thanks! I've seen some vids of people removing the connector and giving it a good old scrub with some isopropyl and a toothbrush. Is that a good option?
