This kind of dynamic – the unexpected romance between the loser guy and the popular girl – is a popular trope in fanfiction and romance. A trope is a recurring theme sometimes specific to a genre, that can become cliché if overused.

If you’re scared of opening one by accident, don’t worry. Users receive a warning before accessing a work If it has warning or is marked as “Not Rated” “Mature” or “Explicit”, unless it was disabled in their preferences.

Mature : It’s for work meant for adults. It warns the user that the work may contain adult themes (such as sex, violence etc) that aren’t as graphic as below.

Explicit : It’s for work meant for adults. The content contain explicit adult themes such as detailed graphic violence, sex scenes etc

General audiences : The content in this fic is suitable for anyone. It is unlikely to be disturbing to anyone and is suitable for all ages.

Teen and Up Audiences : It means that the content may be inappropriate for audiences under 13
