From the article: Rickennman said he’s heard Schlueter’s concerns and was surprised when he found out the parking spots had been removed. “People talk about these things 10 years ago," he said, "and then suddenly everybody shows up with the funding.” He said he's planning to meet with DOT to discuss what compromises can be made for cyclists, and to accommodate the needs of business owners. “My question to everybody is, is a bike lane on a one block area really what we need to be focused on?” Rickennman posited. Schleueter said the mayor promised to send over someone to assess the situation. And in a conversation with DOT, Schlueter said she was told work is slated to begin on her street in March. For now, she’s still stuck in limbo.

Welp, that was a lie. Kinda glad I don't work for this circus any longer. I wish my former colleagues well - I met some of the best people working at my Target store - but F the corpos. F em hard. I wish the hard workers nothing but the best, forever. You deserve the best.

I don't really think this article sheds a critical light on the infrastructure problems Raleigh NC faces. I also find it telling that housing prices (like most places in America) are absolutely ridiculous right now. Single adult needs 102k/year for comfy living. " F u got mine " gtfoh.
