Your interests to learn something new! But if someone isn't doing any of that and just partake in fandom or media in general to relax and have fun, why should they put in that effort? As long as they're not hurting anybody or anything, leave them be. End of thread 🧵

Without making it feel like an assignment. And even then, if someone isnt problematic or being annoying, who cares if they only partake in a particular series/medium? Sure it's helpful in critical discussion, or if you're a creative and you need inspiration, it's good to look at series outside 5/?

A new show/game/comic/etc, but then you got people like me where telling me to "watch this to expand your taste" feels more like homework and i just dont get invested if im just playing to just say ive indulged a series outside my tastes. There are better ways to get others to try new series 4/?

Someone who keeps talking about a particular series all the time isn't automatically someone with shallow tastes and telling them to try other series just to "broaden their pallete" for the sake of it is not doing what you think it is. Sure there are those who would do that and end up liking 3/?

At best it's being ignorant to about those who probably just have a dedicated account to one fandom for whatever reason while indulging their other interests outside it. At worst it's lowkey abelist to neurodivergent people who have hyperfixations and special interests. 2/?
