Top 1 percent pay a little over a third of their income in taxes, middle about 26 percent, the poorest fifth of Americans pay about 17 percent of their income. Let's also not forget all the special breaks and loopholes for wealthy individuals and profitable corporations.

Taxing billionaires isn't about revenue. It's about fairness and equality in our taxation. We are taxing the working class into poverty and allowing the rich to get richer tax free.

Why do these ideas have to be separate? Tax billionaires & audit for waste and corruption. This doesn't need to be a pick one situation. How to execute the audit, there are differing opinions. It baffles me taxing billionaires is controversial, but taxing the working class is fine.
