Understood, and I am not an expert in this, I was just making the point that the rot I think started with the Tories - George Osborne in his market led policies etc. and Labour are stuck with the result. They are now being blamed for all the ills brought about by 14 years of Tory mismanagement.

Not quite sure why Labour are being blamed for this? Wasn't it the Tory government that cut number of overseas students, which is the stated reason Southend Campus is being closed. Were the Labour government even consulted?
