This is policy without logic. Why even wait for the 2025 hurricane season to end?/s If it is important to wait for this year's season to finish, is the next year's season and the years after not important? Mind boggling.

Climate change is also causing more frequent & severe compound floods due to a combination of events temporally and spatially, related to pluvial/rainfall, fluvial/riverine, and coastal storm surges, and leading to a compounding of impacts. #TexasFloods

7/10. In fact, Texas is among the top 10 states with most frequent Presidential Disaster Declarations (PDDs). From the Spatial Hazards Events And Losses Database (SHELDUS) at Arizona State University. Majority of the PDDs in Texas are in response to floods, hurricanes, tropical storms.

@ECU student mapped the hog farms #CAFOs on the floodplain in Pitt County #easternNC. She had to do some sleuthing, traveled the County to Geo Code their locations. There is no public information on the exact location of the farms #Environment. Most of them are sitting right on the floodplain.

North Carolina released a COVID-19 County Alert System last week. Urban counties (Orange, New Hanover, Wake, Durham, Mecklenburg, Pitt) have the lowest rates, rural counties have the highest.
