In the summer in Antarctica we get to experience 24 hour sunlight. What most people don't know is that all year round, we also get to see 24 hour moonlight on a monthly cycle. It spirals up and down above the horizon in sync with its monthly orbit of the Earth.

Lake Vanda and the Wright Valley. Dry Valleys, Antarctica. The Dry Valleys are often called the place on Earth that is most like Mars. They remain mostly snow-free due to the local microclimate.
