I should hope food at Dinner parties is VAT free - it should be no cost at all.... I can't say I would generally accept an invitation to a dinner party if the host then asked me to pay...
That said, wouldn't the the host have paid VAT for the ingredients in the supermarket?

I can't say I am a fan of goat, but enjoy!

Most of the firms I have worked for seem to only have ridiculously short horizons for their own resource/capacity planning.
And the time taken to get decisions means everyone is playing catch up to some presupposed timeline that never existed anyway, which causes yet more panic...

Too many people end up being involved in the decision making process; which means the inherent inertia restricts the ability to stop doing things that are uneconomic.
The new phrase to stop making cuts is "well there is a regulatory expectation" - which is never tested and generally untrue.
