The nickname "Supercroc", and I guess its name translating to "Flesh crocodile" has given many laypeople the impression that Sarcosuchus is a crocodile or crocodilian. It's not really a true crocodile, branched off from true crocodiles in a family called Pholidosauridae (art: Sergey Krasovskiy)

I do not appreciate the wildlife of my country nearly enough. So here's the start of what, I hope, becomes a trend.
We have big Saltwater crocs here in the Philippines too. Yes, they attack and kill fishermen.

I do not appreciate the wildlife of my country nearly enough. So here's the start of what, I hope, becomes a trend.
We have big Saltwater crocs here in the Philippines too. Yes, they attack and kill fishermen.

Watching the Arapaima episode of River Monsters where Jeremy talks to a native villager who tells him there's a potentially Titanoboa-sized snake in the same waters and Jeremy is deadass like "Aight hold up, the Arapaima can wait" and decides he wants to look for this fucking thing. Absolute madman.
