Through those decades, it was a relationship that benefited both sides and despite discrepancies here and there, both sides respected the basics - we knew we were on the same side of the aisle. This changed and now we are sailing uncharted waters, so to speak. We'll see, but I'm not an optimist.

That's debatable. I mean, LBJ was a bad spot, but Trump is something you haven't had to face on your home turf. He is destroying the very foundations of your system and neither midterms nor '28 elections won't fix that. And that is exactely what is waking the sleeping continent of Europe up

These 89 million are the problem. Wheter they are dissapointed or just don't care, it doesn't matter - by not voting, they legitimized Trump. Not voting is as much a decision as is voting for someone; it means they are ok with whoever wins. That's a huge problem democracy faces when radicals emerge

That's one thing and yes, of course. But in reality, we cannot entrust our security and build alliance with somebody who very well might vote in another Trump (or worse) in a forseeable future. That's not pissing on your effort, that's just common sense from our pow.

Oh, but I don't :) I live in my home country and trying to maje it a better place every day.

Nowadays, yes. But it was part of former Yugoslavia, back in the day, and it unfortunately took a bloody war to get out of. Granted, it was not North Korea, but it would be a mind bending experience (at least) to an average Westerner.

Not a secret. Croatia.
December 12, 2025 at 5:27 AM
That easy, ha?
December 12, 2025 at 5:21 AM
Of course they do; they're both part of the VW group.
December 12, 2025 at 5:12 AM
We don't need your appology. We need your action.
December 12, 2025 at 5:08 AM
You've chosen this one twice.
December 12, 2025 at 4:56 AM
Like they care about some court...
December 11, 2025 at 7:07 PM
Twice. They've been voted in twice. Think about that and think about how will your neighbours and former allies see it.
December 11, 2025 at 6:58 PM
And throw away the key
December 11, 2025 at 12:23 PM
Certainly, WC 2026, the Olympics and Rugby WC would cushion it, but overall trend is a decline and it might be very steep after those events

I've read some analysis on US tourism and find them overly optimistic regarding European tourists. Planning a long family trip to the USA is usually done a year or so in advance so the real impact should be felt in a second part of 2026 onward.
December 11, 2025 at 8:39 AM
No. We're not like that and hopefully it doesn't come to that.
December 11, 2025 at 8:31 AM
Europe is great this time of year or so I hear.
December 11, 2025 at 8:16 AM
One can only hope...
December 11, 2025 at 12:52 AM
My thoughts exactly.
December 10, 2025 at 9:44 PM
I agree.
December 9, 2025 at 4:41 PM
A kind word and a gun will have you go much further than just a kind word.
December 9, 2025 at 3:50 PM
Well, they seem to hate Europeans too and we are very much white white, usually.
December 9, 2025 at 2:15 PM
Hegseth will organize a NASCAR race around the Pentagon
December 9, 2025 at 3:35 AM
Unfortunately, it might come to that.
