The issue with AI is that it’s a vague notion, and people use the confusion to promise a lot of stuff. There is a big difference between Alphafold and ChatGPT, and nowadays AI is mostly derivative uses of LLM, a far cry from “general” artificial intelligence

I like the notion that people write papers not to be read but to be reviewed, therefore requiring the use of the linguo from a subfield to signal belonging and get (the paper) accepted. It’s called peer-review after all
