Recommended: THE WORD FOR WORLD, an exhibition of Ursula K Le Guin's maps and other artwork at the Architectural Association gallery until Dec 6. Small but well curated, and there's an accompanying book too.

Did a quick dash around central London this morning: there are now signed copies of Can You Solve the Murder? in Waterstones Piccadilly, WS Trafalgar Square, and WS Covent Garden for you to find 🔍

(I'm joking, they're not hidden 😅)

Love to see this wall of brain-teaser and interactive books when you walk in to Waterstones Piccadilly. And oh, look… 🕵️ 🔍

On a happier note, tonight's dinner: smoked mackerel, lightly roasted veg, and potato wedges with spinach and salad veg, tossed in cajun-spiced sour cream and topped with sesame seeds. Sounds odd, tastes great 😋

4. Finally, this one is highly intriguing – because the book hasn't actually been published yet 🤪🐶

3. This one is just obvious, thanks to the inept formatting. It might as well say [BOOK TITLE HERE] 😂
October 16, 2025 at 9:35 AM
2. This one is highly unlikely. Barely anyone read The Tempus Project to begin with, *and* it's currently only available in the US via import. (I couldn't fit the whole email in a screengrab, but it ends with a notice that they're US-based)

1. This one is at least plausible. The (AI-generated) description of Can You Solve the Murder? is accurate, and it's true, some book clubs really have taken to CYSTM 🔍

Experiments in curry: trying out a new small-batch base gravy recipe that cooks while you prep and chop for the main dish, then used it to make a regular veg curry with quorn. Came out pretty good! 😋

I swear to god, the funniest thing about this is that for some reason my window cleaner thinks my name is Martin, and it's now gone on so long I haven't the heart to correct him. Is he behind all these book club scams?! 😂

What a lovely surprise – Can You Solve the Murder? tops BookBub's list of "Uniquely Structured Mystery and Thriller Novels":

I know it’s not the end of the year yet, but having just handed in the manuscript for Can You Solve the Murder? book 2, I’m finally slowing down (well, a bit!) and reflecting.
