But you can ask your AI agent to write tests for your existing legacy code base without a test suite...
I often hear "AI doesn't help much on our legacy project."

Worth asking: does it have a comprehensive test suite? Can the agent run it? Does it run it after every change?

Claude Code is working great on a "legacy" project of mine that I wrote pre-AI with.. extensive unit tests!

Time in software is one of my pet peeves. It is to good kind of crazy. So I was happy to discover that, finally, ECMAScript will be getting a proper date and time API.

Playing with Python 3.13 and free-threading. I find it surprising it took so long to Python to get proper threading.
There are many occasions when threading is the right tool to solve a problem.
But I finally saw a Python process using 1100% CPU 😀

Are there any articles going into the details of how WhatsApp was operating at the time of its acquisition by Facebook?
They had about 50 employees, including 35 engineers, but their service was used by close to 1 billion users at the time.

The effects of a good typing system on a language are impressive. To me, JavaScript is one of the most horrible languages I have worked with, while TypeScript is one of the best.
