Read Jacquie Thomson's story of being charged over her own assault:

"I initially thought that more training for serving police was the answer to most misidentified victims."

2 stories from this week - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are 11x more likely to be searched by Victorian cops than white people, and police are instituting a six-month period of warrantless searches across the Melbourne CBD.

Who do you think they'll be harrassing?

Jaquie Thomson was assaulted at her father's memorial service, leaving her with two black eyes and a brain injury. Instead of dealing with the perpetrator, police arrested Jaquie. Check out Nina Funnell's infuriating article on police misidentification of predominant aggressors (link in below).

If any of us chased down and shot somebody *for wearing a hoodie* we would go down for manslaughter or murder. When the cops do it, they face no charges at all.

We spoke to @paulrgregoire.bsky.social from Sydney Criminal Lawyers about the horrific death of Colin Burling and why people experiencing mental health emergencies need healthcare, not police.

If Chris Minns stubbed his toe, he'd say the answer is more police powers.

Cops aren't the solution to racism, they're the problem.

It's already a crime to incite hatred based on race, but the cops didn't care - in fact they approved the Form 1 for the rally!

People sometimes suggest tranquiliser guns as a "less lethal" weapon for police. Our new article explains why that's a bad idea.

New article - police and unions!

Police and labour unions have a contradictory relationship. A key role of police has been to break strikes, harass and even kill union members. At the same time, in many jurisdictions police are highly unionised themselves.

It’s curious that the cops did everything they could to shut down the recent “March for Humanity” across the Harbour Bridge in court, but didn’t oppose today’s white supremacist “March for Australia”.

Cops aren't trained mental health professionals - they're trained killers. Calling these incidents "welfare checks" is really vile when so often the police kill people who need help. We need trained mental health response teams to replace the cops before they kill again.
