It was an absolute honour to be part of the Future engineers program, empowered by Women In Subsea and Energy, inspiring young girls into engineering and other STEM careers. We ran a transdisciplinary workshop with my amazing engineering colleagues to demonstrate the importance of working together.

Joining online to see the final presentation of my amazing Master student, Alyaa Shara Shaharuddin who investigated microplastic contamination in small reef fish. Excellent work, Alyaa!

Happy International Women's Day.
Here’s to women holding their own.
Here is to a world where one day we have finally reached equity for all, to a world where we focus on what matters, to a world we forget hate and embrace our differences, embrace diversity. Here is to being a human.

Yesterday beautiful Beethoven found a new home with a lovely family, one of whom is a vet nurse. Luckily this cute fellow isn't going far and we will get to see him again. He is the sweetest puppy I have ever met. 😍

Today we said "good bye" to beautiful Charlie. He also found a lovely home where the new owners will spoil him no doubt. Their friends already dropped off a care package for them with puppy treats and toys. How nice is that? Still sad at Lula Lodge though.

Today we said "good bye" to two beautiful girls: Tiffla & Dora the explorer. They found a new, loving home where they get to stay together. But we are still very sad at Luna Lodge.

Perhaps a little too excited about my name on the door. There is something good to say about the place that by their actions says:"We want you here. Here is your office, here is your name on the door. Let us know what you need so you can do your job as well as possible and succeed." It feels nice.

Beyond excited to announce that today I have started a Research Fellow role at the Oceans Institute at the University of Western Australia with an awesome team. Everyone I met so far has been so welcoming & helpful! ❤️ Best Monday ever, my cheeks hurt from smiling.

Immensely touched to receive ten student-nominated teaching appreciation certificates from my 2024 Master cohort. I am grateful to you for taking the time to write these heart-warming nominations & that so many enjoyed the units & learned something valuable. You made my year.

Time for their first vaccination! They braved the needle well. And they brought much joy to the vets at our local Sorell Veterinary Centre.

Omg I missed a daily puppy update yesterday - too busy writing a book chapter. Sorry all. Here is a puppy pile instead! How many can you see?

P.S. yes - they do have another bed, two in fact. And also a mat. But they all like this bed.

Dora the explorer - also known as the flying fox dog.

Welcome to your weekend.

One of the best things about being an educator and a scientist is seeing your former student kick goal, thrive in their chosen careers and be happy with their work place and work. So immensely proud of Annabelle Erskine who has been doing awesome work at Marine Solutions, Hobart for three years now!
