Potentially I disagree the it may be a more expensive fleet, physically, but my experience with and others of Victoria transit, and the CRD transit suggest that it is the implementation of the roots and practises that are the failure versus the actual hardware.

I disagree. I could see this as a nearly immediate drop-in replacement for the buses, and the current infrastructure due to the fact that as per the video they were operating on existing streets. Based on that the cost would be minimal, transition quick, and potential uptake nearly immediate.

… less than the total cars on the road it replaces. As well, it might be possible to detour a light tram system, put rail into the same lane as it uses, over the span of 5-10 years and then, replace the tire based tram with rail based variants.

Fair points in all accounts; but at the same time, we need something better than we have and it would be faster to implement such a fleet than to drag out the process of putting in rail 10-15 or more years in the future. Also the tire wear though more than a car, on aggregate would be…

Sits down and plans better route usage that what is presently in place in the CRD; what we have now is a joke.
November 29, 2025 at 2:11 PM
It might be a bus in multiple sections; but is something the CRD is in desperate need of. Given a dedicated lane (hard separation) setup it would help speed the Westshore around and over/into Saanich and Victoria, while reducing personal vehicle congestion. But, only if BV Transit really…

Lovely and so vibrant. I hope some were saved for your dog as treats.

One problem most people have is that (at least for Apple users) the App Store generally curates a better, vetted list of apps that aren’t generally trojan or backdoored apps, so users can trust them. Open-source’s promise is good; but also a heavy weight to bear that most can’t/won’t do.

So accurate Lloyd. If politicians were serious and oh, say PM Carney’s “Values” were real and put into practice, then we and the world might have a fighting chance; but capitalism wins as planetary systems falter and humans suffer.

Wholly agree and have designers plan for family units as well, to encourage vibrant and generational housing in all parts of the city.

Courtyard style housing is lovely and one aspect to help with the housing situation. It is a missing middle piece that should be encouraged to help keep neighborhoods dynamic and visually interesting.

Cops being ‘hard-on’ a ”crime”, it’s apparently the only upstanding thing they did all day. 🤣

If he speaks/writes/posts statements that a false and illegal/unlawful, call it out to the House’s ethics board. Or contact his office, tell them of it and report it through a close MP who is of your preferred party.

I feel as if he became a politician and through those “Values” out the window, when they are needed more than ever. Trump’s actions just speak of that need and leadership even moreso now and PM Carney has abandoned his book’s core. How disappointing!
October 9, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Read Carney’s book “Values” back in 2022 and found his stance and proposals were well thought out and should be used to move us all toward a good future. But his actions as PM make me question if a) the book’s words were performative and b) will he actually enact them to get us through this?

I hope you’re being sarcastic, else you are oddly conspiratorial.

Then is it Canada’s tar-sands and potash mines? If so, Moe and Smith better be prepared for the responses! We don’t want/need more fossil fuel extraction; but more left in the ground to help move to cleaner, safer alternatives such as solar, wind, geothermal and wave.

I feel sorry for those attending ( in person or via media) for how fearful, scared and myopic their world view is. Our world is better when we can work to get along and look forward to better ourselves together, not divide us and hole-up in reinforcing echo-chambers.

Great book that I read ~2 years ago. A good refresher for those who know and a good intro for those that unaware and new to the topic.

This is the only way to start people seeing others they disagree with as people and being to open ones eyes to fixing things. Also the only way to take to power away from hateful people and rising rhetoric.

What Erica Kirk and the other Maga supporters failed to recognize is it is they Maga and fellow Republicans who are the target, if they really think about it, not the liberals or the left; her husband was taken by his supporters/team

The problem is saying, the shooter is a line wolf vs a symptom of inherent problems in the US that need everyone to look deeply at themselves, each other, and at deeply held beliefs that do not make you safer; but more fearful and afraid, leading to distancing and isolating vs building connections.

And their parties, or let them start a war that recount and create new horrors that cause those of us who knew survivors of WW2 and other wars, to feel sick that “never again” has been forgotten or twisted to the aims of these modern fascists regimes.
September 13, 2025 at 2:19 PM
To this point, especially right wing pundits, think tanks, politicians and voters. Also no thinking about what really is the cause, poor planning and historic governmental decisions (often in the 1980s) that have brought us to this inflection point. Do we stand up and confront the rising fascists

A good view from someone who grew up in and was involved with TPUSA. Also, her point, and I think this is the crux of the argument is, know what and why you believe what you do. That said also, it is the increasing political polarization that has brought the US and much of the world’s nations…
