I would call our girl here a mediumhair as well, although if I had to pick one of the other options I’d go with longhair. Her fur is a couple inches long and definitely behaves like long fur.

At one point a friend found a website selling butt jewels on a ring that you could put on your cat’s tail so you wouldn’t have to look at a feline butthole. I felt that my cats use their buttholes regularly & trying to clean cat waste off of them sounded grosser than just leaving things alone.

I’m so, so sorry for your loss.

my spouse & I are more cat people, so not exactly the same. But yrs ago when I finally got my first cats as an adult(pre-spouse), I was pretty nervous too. And there were some hiccups, but overall it’s been one of my best choices as an adult. So I encourage you to go for it.

I swim year-round (at my local gym), and one year realized in July that I needed to replace my swimsuit. Great: it’s July, so that should be easy, right? Nope; swimsuits were already out of stores, or at best on clearance but not in my size. In July.

Just watched this last night and I loved it so much!

I regret to say that I too kind of like it. I wouldn’t have decorated like this myself (and the statues would have to go), but it’s colorful and distinct & kind of fun. (World, feel free not to tell me that I have no taste; I am aware.)

If you have enough money to buy this house, I assume you just pay someone to do it. (I assume they pull it off im strips or scrape it off depending on how well it’s attached, but I’ve never been a professional painter so can’t say for sure.)

That is a good point.

I guess we don’t, really, now that you mention it. We do have evidence that they both care about each other & seem to feel affection for each other, so I assumed. But sex is not necessarily a given.

When Jud and Beoit walked into the basement & smelled something horrible, I thought it was Nat’s wife immediately. No one else had been dead long enough to smell THAT bad. Apparently I was wrong.

Just as someone read the Bible verse that ended, “And darkness fell,” this giant beam of sunshine blazed through the window, just like in the movie with the most perfect comic timing. 2/2

Years ago my church had a Tenabrae service (Service of Shadows on Good Friday). It was supposed to get gradually darker to represent the terrible things Jesus went through. But Easter was really late that year so the church didn’t get as dark as it would have for a mid-March Easter. 1/

Grace‘s story just made my heart hurt so much. She was treated so horribly. And then to be called vicious names all the time after her death so she was always slandered. I know she wouldn‘t care about that since she was dead, but still!

The whole Missing Stair idea, that one person gets to be difficult & unreasonable but everyone else around them has to treat them w/ kid gloves or the OTHER PEOPLE are seen as the unreasonable ones.

I feel like it was more that Vera & Simone had been cast out already & the lister was waning for them. Nat was a doctor, & Lee had been a successful author. They too had skills that could have gotten them out if they could have moved on.

I wish we had learned more about Vera’s feelings about her dad. Wicks says that she’s her dad’s nightmare, & she obviously has bitterness towards him, but we don’t learn much else. Other than him being a jerk for saddling her with a kid & no explanation.

I turned to my spouse at that line and said, “She’s a married woman! How does she not recognize dick drawings??” Like, this is presumably a body part she’s seen many times over the years, given that she married a man. That sort of “ignorance“ has always felt willful to me.

I too felt like his way of insisting made it sound like he was not in fact entitled to the title, so to speak.

It's even littered with technologies that worked well but we eventually moved on, or tech that was perfect but everyone who knew how to make it died, or…. We create a lot of new tech as a species and a lot of it doesn’t last.

I won’t say it’s impossible, but they’ve made it such a pain to use that I know very few people who are on FB with regularity. Trying to get enough people to pay to outweigh the loss of people who drop it over this seems implausible.

How is that said in Romanian? (As someone who speaks Romanian but doesn’t know that specific phrase.)
