It’s such a subtle change, but it makes me happy that #MarvelRivals took cues from #MarvelSpiderMan2 Venom’s front sigil and have the top spider legs over the trapezius like that! 🕷️ I hope future Marvel projects continue this for #Venom and made it the norm for his future designs! 👏

Finally finished my first, real, new piece of art for Bluesky! 👏 and inspired by Sonic x Shadow Generations, the whole gimmick of "classic and modern" versions of characters brought up this idea! It's been 14 years since my OC's original debut, and 10 years since his modern design! 😊

Left: Anthony "Ant" Matsuo, at age 14, who I made in 2010, with his original design of clothing, gloves, shoes, and his infamous "butt hat," because I didn't know how to draw hats, all done in my current art style (like how Generations "defined" Classic Sonic's look since Sonic Generations) and my "second choice of a Digimon partner," Gaomon! Right: Anthony "Ant" Matsuo, at age 16, who I updated the look in 2014, that sticked for about a decade (minus some tweaks and minor changes done over the years) with his new color scheme, shirt, pants, shoes, and most importantly: his new hat, along with Gaomon, who sports a brighter color scheme than his original debut!

I can’t believe it took me until now I realized: for my original Digimon fanfic script, the main character is a little blue dude (with Gaomon) with a dark knight figure as the villain (with DarkKnightmon) 😂 Literal “Sonic and the Black Knight” coded with these coincidental conveniences, I swear 🗡️
Back when I gave my OC a Xros Loader, I remember making this “Knight Mode” their favorite Xros form to use, as much like how the other main characters from Digimon Xros Wars/Hunters have a “reliable Xros form” to use. This was mine! AND of course, DarkKnightmon towering the cast of my fanfic, much like King Arthur did, in “Sonic and the Black Knight!” A little bit too much on the nose with these “Sonic and the Black Knight” references!

Funny how he mentioned the Digimon RP art tournament back in 2012, because I remember seeing his tamer and Dynamon! His art during the competition was INCREDIBLE! AND then there's me, who entered the tournament too back then, as an art newb, with my initial interpretation of Ant and Gaomon 😳

Title: Evolution Beyond the Natural (2020) Original Upload Date: June 12th, 2020 This was a remake of an older picture I did of LegendGaogamon, doing the side view look with an anime background going on in the back. Title: All-Out Attack with LegendGaogamon Original Upload Date: February 2018 Another crossover piece with Persona 5, I imagined what LegendGaogamon's cutaway was if he did the All-Out Attack with the DigiDestined! It was quite difficult to think of a quote I'd go by that fit him, but it was such a blast to draw Legend in this frame! Title: LegendGaogamon Strikin' On In Original Upload Date: September 13th, 2024 This picture had an interesting coincidence. I saw this pose that SSJ2 Goku was doing, for a promo art for the Fusion Reborn movie, and while I was drawing this, I saw this tweet trending, where it was a picture with the caption, "two characters sharing a body," with the tweet saying, "One of my favorite character tropes." I did make it official that in order to digivolve into LegendGaogamon, you do have to Biomerge with Gaomon! Since Biomerging is technically two characters sharing a "new body" in the form of a Mega-level Digimon, I say it counts! It was fun to put two-and-two together, since I do love drawing LegendGaogamon in DBZ-like poses, since he is heavily influenced by Vegito & Gogeta! Title: Light and Darkness Original Upload Date: February 19th, 2019 Around this time, I wanted to draw LegendGaogamon a new, official look, but at the same time, I wanted to finalize his "Dark form." I had dabbled into the concept before, but with each attempt: I knew I wanted to give him some elements from MirageGaogamon but being his own thing, but also being a dark reflection of LegendGaogamon, since I was still impressed with how I made this original look for Gaomon's Mega form. Still, though, it's interesting to give Ant's Gaomon two routes of Mega, instead of MirageGaogamon: Of course, he can go the standard Digivolution into LegendGaogamon; however, some dark seeds within Gaomon's heart can easily lead to... PhantomGaogamon! It's so funny how I made this form before GulusGammamon was a thing, since he too does the "dark cape" look, but I'm still pretty proud of how he turned out too: acting as the dark reflection for LegendGaogamon.

Title: Burn! The Warrior Original Upload Date: January 29th, 2015 One of my CROWNING, personal achievements at the time! Around this time, Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V was airing, and I continued my tradition from ZEXAL to follow it while it was airing, and the second opening of this anime was one of my ABSOLUTE favorite anime openings! Before making this picture, I had redone my human OC a bit, but there was a frame from this opening that inspired this anime style of "showing off Gaomon's evolution line," with the surprising debut of an original Mega-Level Digimon I made SPECIFICALLY for my Gaomon: LegendGaogamon. I remember how disappointed at how Gaomon's canon Mega-Level form looked, so I wanted to create a more "organic" form, straying away from the typical "knight Mega form" a lot of Digimon had, and taking inspiration from his previous forms and other characters' certain aspects. Overall, I was happy with how it turned out and it made a milestone in my drawing that I'm personally happy about. Title: Burn! The Athlete Original Upload Date: January 30th, 2015 Continuing the series of the "Burn!" pictures, my friend let me continue using her character, along with the Gabumon I partnered her up with and had created her own version of this picture! In our canon, she was the "tomboy, optimistic character" who had an athletic prowess to her, hence why her title was the "athlete." We had also established that our Mega-Level forms for our Digimon partners would have them "biomerge," like in Digimon Tamers, into their Megas. Hence why I made basically an anthro version of MetalGarurumon, calling it "MechaGarurumon." (So original.) I'm still happy with this piece though, and she was just as important as my OC too! Title: Burn! The Sharpshooter Original Upload Date: January 31st, 2015 Continuing the series of the "Burn!" pictures, @xander3000 had me create a human OC a couple years before this piece. I remember he wanted him to give off a "Gary" and "Silver" vibe out of him, hence "Alex Soto" was created! We basically made him the "rival character" of my human OC, which like with my other friend, let him choose a Digimon partner. Again, with his limited knowledge of Digimon, he chose Impmon, which I feel would work out! At that time, Impmon didn't have a "canon" evolution line that built his way up to Beelzemon, so I had to find Digimon that would fit the "Champion" and "Ultimate" roles. It's funny how years later, Digimon did make this line canon, but at that time, I was happy with the choices I made and drew this picture at the same respect as the other two!

Title: Alola! King's Sword Waltz! Original Upload Date: November 2017 I don't remember exactly what the move: King's Sword Waltz, but playing Pokkén Tournament at the time gave me the idea that his Synergy Move would play similarly to his original Z-Move I wish he had. Seeing Ash and Pikachu get an original Z-Move with the hat backward inspired me to draw the same with my Empoleon partner! Title: Friends and Partners Along the Journey Original Upload Date: April 27th, 2021 This was based on the "opening monologue" scene Pokémon Journeys would start episodes with. In later episodes, they would update it based on who's been added to the team or who's evolved, but it would have the same composition, with the trainers and their teams gathered together, with the Pokéball background. I wanted to do the same with my de facto partner! Title: Entry 395: Empoleon (Updated PokéRap) Original Upload Date: November 18th, 2020 A couple of my artist friends reached out to me if I wanted to be part of this project called the "Updated Pokérap," where they're recruiting artists to draw a Pokémon for the new rap they're doing, now from Gen 1 to all the way to Gen 8. I managed to take Empoleon's spot in the new rap, hence this picture right here! It was fun to get to draw him again for this project! I believe a year and a half later, the video came out, and it felt so surreal to see him part of the new Pokérap! Title: Here Comes the Spider-Cario! (Devvcario Commission) Original Upload Date: July 18th, 2019 This was my first-ever art commission for Devvcario! He talked me into trying out a commission for him since he liked my art style so much that, he wanted to buy a piece for me. Since we were both into Spider-Man, I took the challenge of making his "Spider-Cario" a thing in my style. I remember how much fun this commission was to draw! The costume was based on the PS4 Advanced Suit, which I believe watched him play on stream while playing it myself! This is the one with the white sigil, and he asked if I could do a black sigil one as well. (NEVER RELEASED TO THE PUBLIC) Title: Pursuing the Blaziken Self Original Completion Date: April 29, 2024 A quick gift art I drew for a new online friend, since we have gotten so close, at this point of time. He had a Blaziken-sona, and since I made him play through PERSONA 4 Golden, at the time, and enjoying the hell out of it, I had to draw this for him! Attack of the good boys! Title: Captain Gaomon Original Upload Date: May 19th, 2019 My hype level for Avengers: Endgame was THROUGH THE ROOF at that time! So much so, I had to go back and draw a new version of "Captain Gaomon," based on the Marvel gift art I did for my friends. I actually drew two versions of this picture, since Cap does get a "hammering" moment in the final battle against Thanos. I was screaming my head off when this scene happened on screen. Actually, this whole movie was a scream-fest, with what happens. Still, though, I think Gaomon is worthy. Title: Stand Out ABOVE THE CROWD Original Upload Date: December 2016 This was after I had found the NateWantsToBattle's cover of Stand Out from A Goofy Movie. At the same time, I thought it would have been funny if he dressed just like Max Goof during the skateboard scene back home! (This is also Gaomon's new canon human disguise, which I approve of.) Title: (Somehow) Always With You Original Upload Date: March 2016 I have a friend who informed me that Gaomon has his own "character song" from the Digimon Data Squad/Savers OST. This was my reaction towards it. Dunno why, at the time, Gaomon would sport Davis's flame jacket while he sings! I think a conversation led up to this, but I cannot recall!

After seeing him in Super, since I've never seen the Buu Saga in the original DBZ, I thought he was the coolest! I just had to with LegendGaogamon, since he's technically a "fusion" between Ant and Gaomon. Title: LegendGaogamon Steps Into Battle Original Upload Date: March 2017 This pose was based on a pose Goku does for Dragon Ball Super! I remember how hyped I was when they dropped the poster and the new opening for Dragon Ball Super for the Universe Survival arc. LegendGaogamon was able to pull off the badass walk that Goku does! LegendGaogamon Original Upload Date: August 12th, 2022 Seeing how in Digimon Survive: the newest Digimon video game on consoles and such, digivolving sequences have this "anime frame" with every debut of a new form for the main character and the cast, of course, I wanted to draw the same frame for LegendGaogamon, with Ant watching in "ahhhhh" of the Warp Digivolution, like how the other Digimon tamers do in the game! Title: One Way Dream Original Upload Date: December 6th, 2022 "Boost your spirit off the ground, I'm a spark that won't go out. We can go much higher now, Gravity can't hold us down. We're only at the beginning of this one way dream." This year hasn't been the best for me but definitely brought me joy to draw this out before the year ended. These are based on the Digi-protag cards that the Digimon Card Game have been releasing, and I wanted to give it a shot, with my favorite OC duo and their Mega form! I'll jump on board at any chance to draw LegendGaogamon in a badass way, especially with the two people that can form him! I also have the renders that are "outside their card boundaries" of Anthony Matsuo, Gaomon, and LegendGaogamon!

Hi y’all! I’m AntTheGao: gone by many other usernames, but I am a digital artist, on an amateur level, I say. ✍️ I like to draw Pokemon, Digimon, & many other interests, but mainly my human OC, Gaomon, and his Mega-Level OC I made! 👍
My most recent piece, in celebration of Sparking! ZERO coming out! I have a bit of a history with Bergamo, since back in 2017, people accused me of “ripping him off,” when in reality, I made my Digimon back in 2015. Still though, the similarities between my character and Bergamo were way too uncanny, with him being a wolf and wearing a red scarf! So, I made a piece back in 2017, of them duking it out. You could say this is a pseudo-sequel/remake of the same idea, as I love to dub them as “Wolf Cousins,” because of how similar they are. This is my main human O.C. I have inserted into mainly Pokémon and Digimon, in terms of fanfics and such. He has the same nickname as me: Ant. He has grown and changed a lot over the decade I have drawn him, but his basics have been the same since, from the tanned skin, silver hat, and overall design! Gaomon is the chosen Digimon partner I have given my human O.C. “Tamer,” well over a decade ago, back when I got back into Digimon when Xros Wars was airing. For a little while, I did stay “on-model” when drawing Gaomon, but nowadays, as you can see: he’s grown into his own “style of sorts” when it comes to drawing him now. Still one of the best “second choice” I made, as I joke every time it could have been Shoutmon instead, after all these years. LegendGaogamon, an original Mega-Level Digimon I made just for Gaomon, is the result of me not liking the original Mega level for Gaomon. MirageGaogamon never impressed me, as I always saw him as “another Omegamon armor man.” That’s when a mix of many ideas I slurried together, back in 2015, came out him! Still one of my favorite original designs I’ve ever made, and it makes me happy a lot of Digimon followers and friends agree as well! So don’t be surprised a lot of my art revolves around him!
