Russia boasts regularly about destroying Ukr infra. Maybe they'll rethink however unlikely that seems. They must be made to realise that the cost/benefits of the war do not add up. Taking a few more fields in the Donbas is not worth this.

Parasites need decay to live. Reform needs deprived areas to get elected.

One further consideration is to have the stove air intake ducted from outside if possible. That is the standard across much of Europe, but it's not common in the UK. It means the air that comes into a UK house to replace that going up the chimney is from the outside via draughts, ie cold and wet.

2) I can also tell because when I open the patio door and let in outside air, the air filter often comes on, even when the wind is blowing our chimney pollution away.
3) We live in a forested area (in Slovakia) so the choice is buy gas from Putin or burn local sustainable wood.

1) windy.tv has an excellent air quality monitor for NO2 and particulate matter so you can compare your area versus your inside pollution levels once you have a sensor. In my case, with the air filter, the indoor pollution with the stove on is usually lower than the ambient outside pollution levels.

1) Get a decent air filter with an automatic sensor that comes on when pollution is detected. 2) use a PM2.5 face mask during when reloading the stove and the door is open. 3) PM2.5 sensors are cheap, get one. 4) Only use hard wood dried for several years.

In this context re-nationalising the water industry would seem like an easy win; it polls well, allows for a proper fix of the investment and pollution problems, and positions the government as a force that can make things better.

Many bike lanes are unusable. If I have to yield every 60 yards for someone's driveway or a minor road (which usually means stopping and checking for traffic or going slow), with glass and debris on the surface, inconsistent lanes, and then it just disappears at major junctions, it's a no from me.

Do we never learn? Huawei with 5G, CGN with Hinkley Point nuclear power station or Jingye with British Steel were all complete failures that cost far more to extract ourselves from than buying British from the start would have done.

In case you didn't see, GCN just put out a new YouTube video on the subject called "Everything You Thought You Knew About Roads Is A Lie". A great watch.

The street over has a primary school. Every morning and afternoon for about 15 minutes, at precisely the moment a car ban would be the right thing to do, it is instead clogged up with pavement parking, double and hatched zigzag yellow parking, yelling, gridlock and exhaust fumes.
