Right, enough is enough. This is the only flag I want to see. All the other flags are for flag shaggers.

As a bonus, you get to see a beautiful white horse.

Also, the Daily Fail has absolutely no knowledge of the English language either. Yes, emmets can be used to mean tourists, but it isn't a Cornish word. Emmet is found in many areas of England, and in Kent an ammut-cast (emmet-cast) is an ant-hill (anyone been to Emmetts Hill?).

I saw on a post that someone had described this morning as 'a proper hopping morning', bringing back memories of growing up in Kent. There used to be lots of hop picking vocabulary in the local vernacular, and we still use words like 'oast', 'hop garden', which I believe are different elsewhere.

I know there’s a way to go, but not looking good for the Tories in Kent. Never thought I’d see that.

Just seen this on the local facebook group, from a Tonbridge council meeting in 1920 which was debating whether to allow mixed bathing on a Sunday. How times have changed...#Kent

Yesterday was the International Day of The Podenco and I’d just like to take a moment to celebrate this amazing breed and highlight the abuse they still suffer.

Mar pen vy ty! = If I were you

Studying the subjunctive in Cornish is a little easier to navigate as I use it in Spanish on a daily basis.

I always like to point out we still have the subjunctive in English. Apart from the above sentence, we also say:

It's important you be on time.
God forbid!

For me, the most interesting Kentish accent must be from the former coal mining village of Aylesham, in East Kent. Miners from South Wales, Scotland and the North East came to work here and developed a unique dialect, using the short [a] in bath and a schwa in words such as strut.

Just reading a history of Kent and came across this: Henry VIII, a Kentish man, loved the shire, and he loved one of its fairest daughters, whom we shall meet again at Hever Castle.

I always heard stories of my grandfather visiting his family in Greenwich, many of whom still referred to it as Kent.

J'ai êcris tchique chose en Jèrriais. Pouor mé, ch'est eune bouonne manniéthe à êprouver à amender.

Inspired by my attempts at a bit of writing in Cornish, I have written another text in Jèrriais. This time about my local park. For me, it's a great way to improve.
