Yeah it's also the @edzitron.com theory of them all being idiots distracted by shiny keys.

But hey at least he will sweep out homeless people. Actively wast the money to help them.

Also he won't try to make public transit better or do anything to change things for the better.

Woman says she was 8 months pregnant when Seattle Mayor Harrell pulled gun on her, leading to his 1996 arrest

I think part of the issue will become a lot of groups will be triggered by things like asking people who have more than enough money to give it up.

People who believe they have a god given right to drive to their destination and find free parking right by it.

But yes... Sigh

Idea: instead of paying them more they have to live in mixed income social housing in DC alongside the people

Your reading between the lines a lot.

I also don't want to be held up in court until 2040 for design review by NIMBYs.

How do we count the votes of people who don't live here yet because it's too expensive.

See what you want to see.
November 12, 2025 at 2:34 AM
You do it by changing the math, making it cheaper to live in city w/o a car vs burbs with a car. 40 y/o millennial with a zero car household

Hate developers too anti-capitalist to the core.

Play the game, move the needle

No parking is no problem for these Seattleites, who set a record in 2023
For the first time since the U.S. Census Bureau started tracking this data, 20% of Seattle households do not own a car, writes FYI Guy.

The pro having more cool neighbors community.

The pro more dense housing in places where one is not required to own a car community.

I would love if we could do it all with public funds and blanket all of the city with 3 story passivehaus mass timber stacked flats and eliminate about 50% of the parking and car lane miles in the city.

Everything is driven by what we value particularly in engineering. It's how we make critical decisions that are not bound by the immutable laws of physics.

Yes it's driven by ideology. Ideologies can change over time. WA Bikes is not changing with the community it is supposed to represent.

No parking seems like a good thing....

Great section in 'Paved Paradise: How Parking Explains the World' By Henry Grabar about patterns that lead to great street food.

Not saying that permitting reform won't help and we should absolutely do that.

But eyes on the big picture.
