My Captain in Iraq got busted for embezzling tens of thousands from the funds we were paying to a local Sheik.
He was a lowlife, but even he never tried to tell his soldiers that they could ignore rules of engagement or commit war crimes.

Banning swastikas has long been the policy of the military. When I was in the Army we were given EEO briefs every six months and were told we were required to report anybody who had Nazi tattoos or other extremist symbols.

That absolutely wouldn't be tolerated if he was on active duty. It does not speak well of him, or his unit's leadership.
