Sure, especially if he's even locked in the baggy.

You basically started the discussion between us two. By claiming my statement was wrong and by claiming you know German. I prove my point with sources and gave more example. Then you started to get angry at me. That’s not how it works. That’s how people like Trump work.

We simply discussed German grammar, nothing more, no offence intended. Here’s btw an exhaustive (?) list of countries with articles: learngerman.dw.com/de/ortsnamen...

Right, as I said in another comment, in English it’s wrong.

In some region it’s even normal to refer to people with article. “Der Björn-Emil”. In other regions this is considered rude. But no one would say “Ich wohne in Schweiz”, ”Ich mache Urlaub in Türkei”. It’s wrong. Same applies to Ukraine. That’s the three countries which came to mind. Might be more.

de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ukraine - check the first sentence. Simply google for “Die Ukraine”.

In English it’s certainly wrong. But I would guess that non-native speakers simply make mistakes here. But that’s how you learn :-)
February 5, 2025 at 9:41 PM
In German, that is. In French it’s different again.
February 5, 2025 at 9:39 PM
No, not every country name. You don’t say “the France” or “the Sweden”.
February 5, 2025 at 9:38 PM
In German you even say e.g. “the Switzerland” or “the Turkey”. No idea about Ukrainian or Russian grammar. Only wanted to mention that this is completely normal in different languages.
February 5, 2025 at 9:37 PM
No, it’s simply a question of language. Even in German you’re talking about “the Ukraina”.

Ah, right, it's the Carrara 2.0. There you cannot pull the key if not locked. I'm locked in the old one.
January 23, 2025 at 2:46 PM
I can't see why not bringing the key is a problem ;-)
