@arstechnica.com is doing a free trial, brought in part by a sponsor, of its subscription program right now, which includes a minimalist view called Neutron Star. That sounds like a great idea to drum up subscriptions. But... this isn't going to convince me at all. I can't see one single article.

YouTube is now offering me the option to share my videos with third parties to train their AI... and it might be a little less insulting if it at least came with some kind of compensation. "Hey, do you want to let AI learn to copy you for free?" Credit it to Google by making this off by default.

I’ve been missing this @ifixit.com manta driver for over three years. So long that I bought (and broke) a replacement. And was getting ready to buy again. Where should I find it but deeeeeeep in the crevices of a couch, by the arms. Found it looking for a tv remote.

So YouTube has a super annoying issue right now. Comment Bot Spam. But it's incredibly different than any comment spam that's come before it. Because the comments are just ... names. Nothing but names. But there's a new theory out about why it might be really bad. Really bad.

Minus some cable clean up and adding lights and maybe a few more accessories... I finally finished building a new desktop for my standing desk. Super happy. Yeah this will get featured in a "desk gadget" video for sure.
