The DAFT visa requires you to:
- move to NL
- start a Dutch business
- open & maintain a business bank account with at least €4500 (you have a few months to do this)
- stay self employed for duration of visa (2 years, option to reapply for extra 5 years)
- turn a ~€10k profit over 2 years

- citizenship track (you'll need to learn Dutch tho)
- gives spousal visas for partner(s)
- gives your kids visas
- gets you out of the US

Pros of living in NL:
- cities are very walkable & bike friendly
- bike paths between cities
- no stigma against sex work
- good health care
- laid back way of life
- easy to use public transit
- no need for visas for traveling in Schegen region
- not a very car reliant country
- cats everywhere

Cons of living in NL:
- housing crisis can make it hard to find rentals in big cities
- health insurance is required by law (~€100-200 per adult per month)
- big cities are more expensive for rentals
- visa process has to be done in The Right Order
- far away from friends & family still in the US

Life here feels so much easier and laidback. My stress levels have dropped significantly. It's quiet & peaceful here with significantly fewer cars on the roads. It's incredibly pedestrian friendly. I'm moving more and walking more and feeling better both physically & mentally. Life is good here.
