My dad got me the book when I was 8. I couldn’t read it then it was too hard for me to read. Then at 19 I read it. I finished it. Walked to my dad and plainly asked him “why did you buy me this book? It’s awful! It’s just inbred people and a psychopath that kills a dog.” And then my dad laughed 1/2

My grandma was forced out of school. She was so scared of being dumb she read every book she found, she read the dictionary: 3 times. Everyone always talks about how smart she was

Cost me 50k to get my degrees (way cheaper in Canada I know but still lots of debt). And I don’t even work in any of the fields I studied. I actually graduated and then no one would hire me. 6 years homeless. My brother had an IT degree and can’t get work. It’s Russian roulette for jobs right now
