After Katrina I had to get to the only open Walmart or home depot which are both next to the Huey p but not across it as I learned the hard way multiple times and it was the old scary Huey p.

And I bring this up because it embarrasses a lot of people when I do. The 9 and the east aren't abandoned wastelands. They are both striving communities where many new orleanians live. And they matter and work harder than a ton of people which is why they aren't here bitching.

Everyone likes to run with the narrative that no one lives there, in the poorest areas of new Orleans or that they won't vote and really it's an entire lot of voices that aren't being invited to the table.
