It’s a good reminder. Lawyers, much like elected officials and service members - swear or affirm to support the law - and not loyalty to any one person. That distinction was rare at the time of our country’s founding and has always been our strength.

I think Dr King was a little too optimistic when he wrote that “the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.” The arc of the universe, moral or otherwise, bends toward assholes. If it didn’t, we wouldn’t have to spend SO MUCH TIME AND EFFORT holding the assholes at bay.

It seems very odd to be listening to the drone of a lawnmower in November.
