Watched Street Gang: How We Got to Sesame Street last night. Great behind the scenes footage and a wonderful selection of folks, past and present, for interview. I especially enjoyed hearing from the children of directors, puppeteers, writers, and composers. The book is on my TBR for the future.

I'm also keeping a journal with more in-depth reflections on what I read and brainstorming for my more formal assignments. It's been a fun way to stay mentally present with subjects that I have a genuine interest in.

And for Children's Lit, I just finished reading The Illustrators: Tove Jansson by Paul Gravett. Beautifully designed book with a cursory overview of Jansson's trajectory as an artist with an emphasis on her illustration experience. I'll be reading Boel Westin's heftier biography next.

For Birding, I read Heather Wolf's Find More Birds. It's a light, approachable list general birding practices that gave me a few ideas for how to tailor some of my homework and field trips. It feels like a good read when you are starting from ground zero before diving into Sibley's works.
