Yeah sometimes writer pairs come off really disjointed but I can never pin down with these two where one starts and the other begins, which is a good sign I guess

I would read the book first, personally. The original movie is quite good. The 90s remake is garbage. The Netflix series was good but only 'inspired' by. That series is worth a watch but I found not as subtle as the book.

Yeah that remake was pure cheese.

I do think The Others was very close in tone and style and always seemed what any THOHH adaptation *should* feel like.

My fave of hers is We Have Always Lived In the Castle
