I see this sort of take a lot and I always think - is it critical reading skills that have collapsed or is it that you've just got way more people coming through the door marked 'public discourse', or a bit of both, you know? Even the average uni class has way more people in it now than 20 years ago

The Telegraph has just run an article effectively attacking Kathryn Yusoff for writing a scholarly monograph based on the analysis of historical documents and a theoretical framework. i.e. being an academic? That's treated as having equal weight and significance as opinions like this based on vibes:

I wish people would understand what trolling is in this context - the misunderstanding is a denial tactic, not stupidity. They know it drives you potty when they misquote antifascist media, they know that making that media seem futile and lose traction helps them, not you.
