The Both Sides Now shawl from Knit Picks is the most complex pattern I've ever attempted and my introduction to brioche. It took me many tries to get it started, but it's very satisfying to watch the pattern happen! I love the squishy feel but I wouldn't want a sweater that thick.

I loved the Pern books so much and always thought I'd share them with my own kids. I did give my eldest daughter the Harper Hall trilogy but I'm not sure she ever read it. She never sought out the rest, and upon a reread I was glad, for many reasons.

They have all found their own beloved books.

I just saw this for the first time last night at the grocery store! I was turned off by the appearance so I didn't look at the price.

I have a 1oz Schacht Hi Lo spindle that I really like. It's inexpensive, readily available online, and light enough for my fine default yarn. There are heavier ones as well, if you default to thicker yarn.

My husband did extensive coding on it and he'd be happy to help.
