i also generally have a hard time with elden ring compared to the rest of fromsoft's games
it's a really fun co-op game though

i do actually enjoy the game but wow solo is rough and not fun a lot of the time

but also the game tutorial doesn't prepare you AT ALL for the actual game it shows you the mechanics and gives you a SMALL LOCATION AND NO TIMELIMIT to go through it THEN YOUR THROWN INTO A BIG ASS MAP WITH A TIMELIMIT WITH NO REAL SENSE OF WHAT TO DO AND HOW TO PROGRESS PROPERLY

not sure if it is or not but days should be ever slightly longer in solo because of the lack of those insanely fast kills after the initial first few locations. or this could be a skill issue

"solo is easier because the health isn't higher from having others" yeah but it's far damm easier to stagger the boss with others basically nullifying the health buff and in co-op bosses tend to die in like 2 seconds which means you generally do more bosses and get more rewards per run

i'm not good enough at the game to solo yet i've gotten to nightlords a couple of times by myself and im always like level 10-11 or so which basically gets me 1-2 shot by the night 2 boss regardless.

i really don't know how i feel about solo in nightreign runs are long as they are regardless of solo or co-op but the fact that revives are heavily limited is odd to me because co-op you can theoretically be revived and revive others like 10+ times not only this but just playing solo just feels odd

that's cool unfortunately my pc is very bad so i play on ps

for any dark souls 2 haters maybe do some research next time instead of blindly following old reviews of the game back when most people didn't know what they wanted out of a souls game actually better yet play the game for more than the 2 hour steam refund timer and actually play it properly

with the original game it was common place to use the mod dsfix which can make the game run at 60

(2/2) fashion and a unique story and sacrificing boss quality and world connectivity and ds 3 does artorias and manus like bosses very well fashion variety though everything is mostly gray sacrificing boss variety and making every area feel like a straight line and a rehashed dark souls 1 story

(1/2) i find dark souls 1 has the most well rounded aspects as a game, best world design, good variety of boss design, most online features, story, music, where say ds 2 and 3 do a few things very well and put everything else at the back end. ds 2 does build variety very well, solid pvp balance,

one of the firekeepers at the start of the game tells you what things betwixt is "This is a limbo. A link between Drangleic and the outer world" and fromsoft split into 2 teams one worked on bloodborne while the other worded on dark souls 2

yeah i've always just called them rougelikes it's just easier that way
but i think rougelikes are rouge clones where the game is fully random and you fully reset on death and rougelites have some upgrades and such that persist each run like hades

yeah i agree.
rougelikes are also in there with its own problems with rougelikes and rougelites

game in question is death howl and going by my other reply
it also has very generic list of "what makes a soulslike"

when a game a gets called a soulslikes it's usually because the game has a checklist which includes "hard bosses" "have to learn the enemy moves" "respawning enemies by some sort of resting mechanic" which any game ever can have and is no way unique to souls
i don't really like the term soulslike

on a similar note they slowly remove or change online features each game and it's sad. dark souls 1 still has the most online features out of any game and you can count on 1 hand the amount of online features in elden ring
